Skin Care Review: Azelex Azelaic acid
|
by Jessica, Oshkosh, WI USA
Rating Satisfactory
Benefits
it didn't cause excessive drying of my face, it did decrease redness
Drawbacks
It causes a stinging/itching sensation that, for me, didn't subside
Details I started using Azelex topical cream 6 weeks ago and have seen LITTLE improvement in my cystic but it has helped to decrease the number of blackheads and little white bumps (comedomes?)on my face. I saw my dermatologist today and he decided that the Azelex is not working well enough for me (I agreed!) so he prescribed Tazorac cream....we'll see how that one works!
One positive thing is that the areas of my face that are not getting new acne lesions look clearer and more even than ever before.
Conclusions
It's an okay product, it just didn't work well enough for me
