Skin Care Review: Retin-A Micro (tretinoin)
|
by Jessica Feeley, St. Marys, GA USA
Rating Excellent
Benefits
Drastically reduced acne and diminished scarring from past breakouts.
Drawbacks
Some skin dryness.
Details After trying a whole slew of over-the-counter products and approaches for mild acne, tretinoin is the first product that really worked. I have combination skin and had relatively mild but chronic (annoying!) acne for about 10 years, and this product has made a dramatic difference. Applying this product once a day before bed time has reduced breakouts to a rare occurence, and when my skin does break out the acne is very mild--barely noticeable. (I've found that drinking 6-8 cups of water a day brightens my complexion even more and prevents break outs even further.)Tretinoin has given me the kind of complexion I always wished for. I highly recommend it, with some caution for people with very sensitive skin--it occasionally caused quite a bit of dryness and flakiness. But this was amended by simply using the product a little less frequently (i.e. every other day instead of every day).
Conclusions
Definitley worth a try! Talk to your doctor--it may truly help.
