Skin Care Review: Tretinoin (for acne)
|
by Amanda Applin, Pittsford, NY USA
Rating Satisfactory
Benefits
Reduced the amount of acne and cysts seem to be smaller and less noticeable.
Drawbacks
Creme can have a drying effect, and there is a burning sensation when applied.
Details I was experiencing cystic acne on my chin and near my hairline on a monthly basis. Cysts would last for weeks and become very red and painful, leaving skin hyperpigmentation. Tretinoin cream has definitely helped with the cysts. Cysts are smaller, less noticeable, and don't last as long as before using this product. There is sometimes a slight burning sensation after the product is applied, and I have experienced only minimal dryness while using this product. I have not yet seen any signs of wrinkle reduction, but have not been using this product for more than 6 months, as recommended for anti-aging.
Conclusions
Tretinoin cream has been a satisfactory treatment for my cystic acne.
