Skin Care Review: Tretinoin (for acne)
|
by kat, Stockton, CA USA
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
acne decreased and a fresher layer of skin was emerging
Drawbacks
red skin, a lot of irritation, red bumpiness, some bleeding
Details This treatment is way too harsh for my skin (I guess it is for sensitive skin). At first it was fine, but after two weeks i saw my skin turn more red and even become more bumpy. this is expected because the medication is supposed to bring the comedone/pimple to the surface. I waited it out for 8 weeks hoping the redness would go away. my pimples did diminish but the irritation was too much to handle as I was so itchy to the point where I would scratch my face and unknowingly make it bleed. If the treatment still makes you itchy and irritates your skin for more than one month, then it is suggested that you stop the therapy. THe medication did help with wrinkles too though.
Conclusions
I would recommend this to people who don't have sensitive skin .
