Skin Care Review: Stiefel Panoxyl 2.5% Creme
|
by sakeena, singapore, singapore
Rating No effect
Benefits
Helped reduce mild surface scars
Drawbacks
It causes reddness and occassionally will cause some outbreaks
Details I am 22, female and asian. I have dry and very sensitive skin with broken capillaries. My dermatologist gave me a prescription for Panoxyl for the acne on my cheeks. After applying this creme for a week my clogged pores became inflamed and they started to look very much like red swollen pimples. I stopped applying it as the cheeks were becoming too red and the inflammation went down slighty.
A surprising side effect was that it actually made a few existing ice pick scars less obvious and seemed to smooth out acne scars.
Overall, this product seems to dry out the skin and is good for controlling fresh pimples in their initial stages only. For stubborn acne like mine, it seemed to aggravate it and make my face very red.
I am now using gentrisone creme from a family doctor and it is non drying and most comfortable for my sensitive skin.
Conclusions
It works on occassional fresh pimple outbreak. Harsh for sensitive skin
Price (paid by reviewer) 6-7 Euro
