At 34 years I am still struggling with blackheads. I have tried the salycic acid on and off over the years to no avail. I couldn't remember ever trying BP, and I didn't know why I wouldn't have. So I gave it a try. Unfortunately they only had 10% at the store which I had heard could be irritating, but I bought it anyway. At first I was really excited since my blackheads seemed to be rapidly disappearing. And at first I didn't feel any adverse effects. But two or three days later my skin started to itch like crazy and turned red and flaky. Then it hit me. I had gone through this before as a teenager, and that is why I switched to the salycic acid in the first place!

Conclusions
I'm going to try a 2.5% BP product
