Skin Care Review: Differin Gel
|
by Alexia
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
There were no benefits to using Differin gel.
Drawbacks
What the gel did to my skin was the major drawback! Also cost and time it takes to work.
Details My dermatologist had told me that Differin gel would take 6-8 weeks to work, so I hung in there while my skin got steadily worse. I noticed at first that my acne became itchy, and then started getting redder. After a month I had more spots and they were worse - angry, red and seemed to be deeper. Still I used the gel for a good two and a half months in the hopes it would work. It did nothing but make my acne worse - with larger, redder spots that now covered a larger area. As soon as I stopped it my skin calmed down. I still got spots but there were less of them and not at like all they were with Differin. Now that I haven't used the gel for a few months my skin looks much better, but there are a few red scars from the spots I got from the gel.
Conclusions
I would not recommend this.
