Skin Care Review: Lumenis Clear Light (Blue Light Acne Therapy)
|
by Anonymous
Rating No effect
Benefits
Facial included with treatment
Drawbacks
Expensive, no effect on acne
Details 8 treatments of blue light therapy, $1000. Blue light therapy had no effect - acne did not improve. This involves having your acne affected skin being bathed with a powerful blue halogen light for 30-60 minutes per treatment. Treatment created no scarring or marks, it just heated up my face for a few minutes.
Treatments included facials before light therapy- but the skin products used had no positive effect on skin.
Some studies available on Pubmed show this treatment had some effectiveness for other people, but this did not work for me.
I am an east Asian male in his early 20's with a long (> 5 year) history of facial cystic acne and whiteheads. Facial skin is normal (not particularly oily or dry).
Conclusions
Expensive, no reduction in acne severity for me.
