Skin Care Review: Intense pulsed light (IPL)
|
by Anonymous
Rating Satisfactory
Benefits
Did reduce redness on area treathed, making acne less noticable.
Drawbacks
Painful, quite expensive and a huge blister
Details I has my first IPL treatment over 1 week ago to help clear my very mild acne. The results so far have been good, with much less redness occuring, however, I have suffered an adverse affect. I knew beforehand that a small blister may occur after the treatment, but my blister was definitely not small and as it was for acne treatment it was on my face. This very large blister went down in about 4 days however, it has left a large scab where the skin is healing and I think this will take about 2-3 weeks to heal. Due to this I am not sure whether the benefits of IPL outweigh the drawbacks (I have read about adverse effects of others) and have not yet made my mind up whether to go back for my 2nd treatment.
Conclusions
I would recommend this with caution, just be very aware of what efects you might suffer.
