Rating Excellent
Benefits
birth control benefit and acne-clearing benefit
Drawbacks
slightly lowered libido (very slight, to emphasize for those worried)
Details for control benefit and acne-clearing benefit for hormonal and stress related acne problems, specifically in my facial skin and jawline area.
Results:
i would highly recommend the generic version of Yasmin (called Ocella) from personal experience, for those women who suffer from hormonal and stress-related acne and have tried clindomycin; benzoyl peroxide; salicylic acid; tetrocycline; cetaphil and other extra gentle products; and retin-a or differin products. currently i combine generic yasmin with the mildest dose of retin-a every other night. i'm considering going off of the retin-a and going on siuritins (sp?) instead because of my fears about the possibility of retin-a speeding through a finite cycle of exfoliant-related regeneration.
i'd caution prospective ocella users to beware of the blood clotting risks, even though they are minimal.
Conclusions
to reiterate, i would highly recommend the generic version of Yasmin (called Ocella)
