Skin Care Review: Avene Ystheal Lotion
|
by Valerie
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
This lotion has a low dosage (0.05%) of Retinaldehyde.
Drawbacks
The actives still are quite strong and burnt my somewhat sensitive/normal/dry skin.
Details Containing 0.05% Retinaldehyde and 0.05% Pre-Tocopheryl, and designed for normal or combination skin, I thought this would be a good start for me. I have never used Vitamin C, Copper Peptides, or Retin A and thought this might be a gentle first step toward doing so. Unfortunately, it irritated my skin - just slightly.. nothing noticeable, but enough of a prickly (burning?) feeling so that it is too unpleasant to continue using.
I want a moisturizer that is soothing - not something that has to burn my skin to toughen it up so that it can tolerate stronger and stronger actives.... perhaps this means avoiding too many harsh actives.
Conclusions
I believe there are many positive effects to be found using sea kelp bioferments.
