Skin Care Review: Dermaglow NuVectin
|
by Christine Canada
Rating Good
Benefits
Reduces appearance of wrinkles, improves skin texture
Drawbacks
Price and acne
Details I'm 40 years old with oily skin that tends toward pimples (but not severe acne), and I started using the Nuvectin cream 2 months ago. I actually have very few wrinkles, and skin that looks significantly younger than a 40 y/0 smoker has any right to, however, I tried Nuvectin for a particularly bothersome wrinkle at the corner of my eye. I've seen a significant softening (in my opinion!)of it, in fact it has almost disappeared. I also have had some improvement of fine lines around mt mouth, but this improvement is much more subjective than the 'big wrinkle'.
I use the cream 2x a day in conjunction with the rest of my routine, which is to wash in whatever cleanser is in favour at the moment (I like Neostrata and Marcell for oily skin, but also use spectro gel), then Neostrata oil free toner (with an acid, glycolic, I think) with 2% clindamyacin, and then a 0.1% topical retin-A gel. I've been using these products for about 15 years now, after initially having them prescribed to me by a dermatologist for acne (and I believe they might be the reason I have much younger looking skin).
