Skin Care Review: Renova tretinoin
|
by Elizabeth, Boston, MA USA
Rating Good
Benefits
Smoother, more moist skin, and moderate softening of wrinkles
Drawbacks
Causes some slight redness and skin flakiness if over-used
Details I am approaching my late 40's and have fair, combination skin. My skin aging complaints have primarily been about eye wrinkles beneath the eyes, and crow's feet. I have used Renova off and on for the past couple of years, all over my face, but particularly around the eyes. I was first introduced to it by a nurse in a dermatologist's office. At first I used a "low dose" .02% version of the cream just a couple of times a week, then gradually increased use to once each night. I tolerated it very well, and only noticed a little redness and flakiness of the skin when I used too much of the product (more than the pea-sized amount recommended). After a few months, I noticed some slight lessening of eye wrinkles, but mostly was impressed with the overall improvement of my facial skin, which became softer, smoother, and more even-looking. One friend commented that my skin looked healthier, and another asked what I was using to make my face look so moist and soft.
Conclusions
If you try Renova, start out slowly to find the product strength that suits you.
