Skin Care Review: Retin-A Micro
|
by Andrea Kapitan, Madison, WI USA
Rating Excellent
Benefits
Fine lines and wrinkles reduced after a few weeks of use.
Drawbacks
Skin may be red and peel and look slighlty older 1 day before it all peels.
Details From the doctor I was using .025% Retin-A (tretinoin) and used it daily. Then at a spa Renova .05% was recommended so I got a prescription for that, but it didn't seem to work as well. So I got Retin-A .1% from the doctor and then from the internet. This solution is too strong, but ok when combined with a moisturizer. If you don't use sunscreen with this product at least 25 SPF or greater whenever you go outside or drive in a car you will get the brown spots. Which of course the next dose of Retin-A will remove. You have to use a good quality moisturizer
(one that feels wet on the skin) 2 times a day, especially at night. Put on an hour or 2 before bed, so it can work without you putting any pressure on the skin; moisturize heavily then go to bed. I would use anything stronger than 025% only 2-3 times a week. Then it takes years off.
Conclusions
When used carefully and correctly it works better than anything else.
