Skin Care Review: Tazorac
|
by AB, Chicago, IL USA
Rating No effect
Benefits
This product did not seem to improve blackheads/whiteheads or wrinkles.
Drawbacks
Flaking skin, dryness, increased sensitivity.
Details After trying many over the counter anti-aging creams, I tried Tazorac (prescription only) because it is supposed to be more gentle than other retin A products. I tried both the .05 and .1% and both were too irritating. I found it to be very drying and did not notice an improvement in acne scars, blackheads and whiteheads or fine lines around the eyes. My dermatologist has now prescribed a .025 retin a cream which he says is gentler than the Tazorac, and he says his patients have been pleased with the results.
Conclusions
worth a try, but the dryness may negate any benefits.
