Skin Care Review: Juvederm dermal filler
|
by Maggie Appleton
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
There really wasn't any benefit
Drawbacks
treatment was expensive, painful and did not last as long as it was supposed to
Details A few years ago I decided to try juvederm, a dermal filler to increase the size of my lips, fill in a deep wrinkle on my chin and fill in the folds on either side of my mouth. The area to be worked on had to be frozen with 4 injections of the same stuff dentists use. The treatment cost nearly $1000 and for that much money I expected to see results. My lips did look much fuller until the swelling went away and then there little difference between the before and after. The deep wrinkle was still there and the folds by my mouth showed minimal improvement. When I went back after one month for a recheck I complained about the minimal results and was told that I needed more juvederm injected. No way was I going to go throught that procedure again. It would have been at least another $1000 to get the lips I wanted and then in a few months they would be back tonormal.
Conclusions
This procedure is way to expensive for the results which are only temporary
