Rating No effect
Benefits
For the amount of time it worked, it looked great.
Drawbacks
High dose (20+ units) required. Results faded in a matter of weeks.
Details I was offered a complementary botox injection by a plastic surgeon for glabellar lines. The first attempt was the standard recommended dosage. Normally, it takes up to two weeks for the treatment to take effect, but after a month there was still no result. The second attempt was 20+ units (the maximum recommended dose.) The effects kicked in after two weeks, and I must say I looked great for about 3-4 weeks, and received many complements. Unfortunately, the effects faded quickly quickly after that. The physician thinks it must be something to do with the way I metabolize the toxin. Botox does not work on every one!
Conclusions
Not comfortable using max dose monthly to sustain results.
