I was informed by my doctor that erbium laser precisely ablates the epidermis to reveal the underlying skin which is smoother and younger looking. It was recommended due to its more rapid laser skin resurfacing recovery as compared to CO2 laser. As I have pitted holes scars resulted from my severe acne 8 years ago, I decided to undergo erbium laser to improve the scarring. The treatment resulted in red and dry skin. In addition, my skin was stinging slightly. As it was an ablative laser treatment, I was informed by the nurse not to use water on my facial skin within 8 hours of the laser treatment. It takes my skin approximately one week to heal and to see an improvement in the reduction of redness. As this was my first treatment, I was told by my doctor that I needed at least 6 sessions to see significant improvement to my pitted scars.

Conclusions
I would require a good moisturizer as my post laser skincare.
