Skin Care Review: La Poche-Posay Biomedic Collagenist Powder

by Susan Rider

Rating
Good

Benefits
Stable form of Vitamin C that can be added to other products & blends well.

Drawbacks
Cannot be used "as-is," and once this powder added, product must be used immediately.

Details
I've liked the skin care products made by Canadian company La Roche-Posay that I've used so far, and so when I was looking for a topical Vitamin C product that wasn't outrageously expensive, I decided to try their Biomedic Collagenist Powder.

Biomedic is in powder form, and is packaged in a small, clear glass jar (.5 ounce). A tiny plastic spoon comes with it to measure out the powder (two spoonfuls per use) into a gel, lotion, or mask. One must use the product immediately after adding the Vitamin C powder.

As for positives, initially it's being in powder form appealed to me. I enjoyed Biomedic's versatile applicability: I added it to my cleanser, masks, and moisturizers. Moreover, Biomedic mixed quickly and well: it was easily miscible in every product.

However, the main negative of Biomedic was what formed its initial appeal: that of having to prepare it before use. This became a bit tedious, and ultimately I found myself using the Vitamin C less.

Initially, the fact that it was in powder form appealed to me

Conclusions
Although Biomedic is priced well and high-quality, it is inconvenient.
