Skin Care Review: SK-II Facial Treatment Essence
|
by Amy , Melbourne Australia
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
None.
Drawbacks
Is very harsh - really stung and made face red and itchy. Irritated previously calm skin.
Details This product is a water-like fluid. You use it like a serum prior to applying moisturiser. It contains Pitera, SK-II's 'miracle' ingredient, which is derived from fermented yeast. Because it is a fluid it was difficult to apply without wasting the product on tissues or cotton balls (which, considering the extremely high price, was a problem). I found that putting the product in a spray bottle worked best. The product has a very strong distinct smell, like yeast. It is the consistency of a toner and was quite drying. The product stung my skin upon application. Then, after about a minute, my skin became irritated. It made my skin hot and itchy and very red. I attempted to endure these effects for a week but it made my previously calm skin irritated, dry, blotchy, uncomfortable and itchy and it eventually made me break out. I had to stop using it. I saw no benefits at all from using it and I was unable to use it long enough to determine whether it does actually reduce wrinkles.
Conclusions
Overpiced, overly harsh and very irritating. Not recommended.
