Skin Care Review: Skinceuticals C + AHA
|
by Anonymous, CA
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
It was suppose to reduce wrinkles/aging and rejeuvenate the face.
Drawbacks
Rash on my face with burning sensations.
Details I have always purchased over the counter hypoallergenic skin care products in the past and have not had adverse reactions to these products. However, I recently visited a dermatologist for a skin lesion and asked about anti-aging products. Naive as I was, I assumed that products purchased from a dermatologist would be very hypoallergenic or at least have instructions for easing into products that might cause problems. After spending a lot of money on skin care products, I now have a rash on my face that is blotchy, itches and burns. My face has never looked or felt so bad! The response from the dermatologist is to stop using for 4 days and then start again but instead of every day, start once every 4 days and work backward to once a day. I need to 'train' my skin to get use to the product! I refuse to continue to try to use a product that my skin obviously doesn't like and reacts adversely to.
Conclusions
Always request product sample to try for adverse reactions.
