Skin Care Review: Isolagen
|
by D Brown
Rating Satisfactory
Benefits
There now appears to be some definite smoothing.
Drawbacks
A very expensive procedure, and one that takes several treatments.
Details Having had acne scars for a number of years, I tried several treatments over a considerable period of time. Finally went with Isolagen, getting injections in London starting in 2003. I was told that it would not act like collegen (which I had had injected several times before) in that the intial filled-in look would wear off almost immediately, while the smoothing benefits would start to show only after 3-4 months. Strangely, it acted exactly like collegen, filling everything in initially and then wearing off in 2-3 months. This was with the first two practitioners. The third was a master Isolagen man who did the treatment in a completely different manner, and then suddenly things started working as they should. Unfortunately, Isolagen UK closed down after only one treatment with him.
Conclusions
Check first with Dr. Berkowitz in London if things begin again.
