Skin Care Review: Alpha-Hydroxy Acid Peel

The "peel" procedure was done in a dermatologists office, in three different sessions. I am pretty sure the acid percent was 25. In the first session the acid was applied, then rinsed off after 60 seconds, the result was mild flaking.

The second session the acid was left on for approximately 3 minutes, the results were more dramatic, rather like a peel off mask.

The third session the acid remained for a full 7 minutes. In the next three days, the skin literally turned dark brown, and peeled off like an onion skin. It was not a high priced procedure, approximately $300.00, but well worth it.

The skin was left very soft and very clear, fine lines noticably reduced. However, for the results to last with this type of treatment, minimum exposure to the sun is mandatory, otherwise, the skin returns to its previous condition.

I would highly recommend it.
