Skin Care Review: Chemical peel
|
by ray earnest, easton, MD usa
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
none
Drawbacks
loss of pigmentation
Details I am a 58 year old caucasian woman who looks atleast 10 years younger than I am. I have relatively nice skin, but I am blond and my skin is a bit fragile. When I consulted a plastic surgeon about the lines above my lips, he suggested a chemical peel. Unfortunately, the peel did very little, if anything, to correct the lines. It did cause a significant loss of pigmentation. In addition, it was painful and unsightly. I would not recommend such a procedure for anyone with thin, delicate skin.
Conclusions
I would recommend that anyone with thin, delicate skin avoid chemical peels
