Skin Care Review: Ultrapeel
|
by Jan, Carlsbad, CA USA
Rating Satisfactory
Benefits
After several treatments, several layers of skin did peel off, exposing fresher skin.
Drawbacks
Only parts of darker pigmented areas peeled off, leaving strangely shaped darker areas
Details I am a 50 year old woman with dry freckled skin. Due to sun exposure and heredity, my skin is prematurely wrinkled with lots of darker pigmented areas. I've avoided deeper peels (croton oil and TCA were recommended) because of the concern of hypopigmentation (loss of natural pigmentation). A nurse-aesthetician recommended a series of less invasive peels, assuring me they would take care of the darker areas. I feel they have gotten rid of some, but made others come to the surface. The quality of my skin is fresher, but the pigment problem remains.
Conclusions
Sun-damaged skin like mine seems to be resistent to the treatment Ultrapeel provides.
