I have had professional peels, and this peel is equivalent (in fact it appears to be the same bottle as the one the doctor uses).

One issue is that these are very strong products. One must use up-most care in applying them on ones own.

It is important not to get "over-zealous," something I tend to do in combatting my acne. Too much exfoliation is not good for the skin.

The biggest practical problem that I have is a is a tradeoff between rosacea and acne. My skin is sensitive and becomes red and flushed when I use it (I can see this because I use the peel on my nose & chin only, which are comparatively more pink)

Conclusions
Salicylic acid peel is recommended if you suffer from black-heads.
