Skin Care Review: Thermage Thermacool
|
by Peter Johnston, Marina Del Rey, CA USA
Rating No effect
Benefits
None. After 2 procedures and 5 months recovery time, no positive effects were observed.
Drawbacks
Treatments are excruciatingly painful with no visible immediate or medium-term results.
Details At an average cost of $2000 per treatment with no visible benefits and an extremely painful procedure, I'd warn others to stay away from going for Thermacool. Being in my early 30s with early signs of skin damage, I expected after 2 treatments 3 months apart that at least some mild improvement in skin firmness would be observed. Not the case at all. Besides the dangers of a still fairly unknown process that can have adverse effects in the long-term, it is clear that the technology behind it is far from perfected and that many years of improvement and advances will be required for the investment in this treatment to be worth the expense in both pain and acceptable final results.
Conclusions
Good cosmetics, rest, exercise and healthy eating may do wonders for less money.
