Skin Care Review: Tri-Luma (by Galderma)
|
by Joanne McDonald, Santa Rosa, CA US
Rating Excellent
Benefits
It lightened dark spots; helped even out skin tone; made my skin feel smoother.
Drawbacks
Occasional mild peeling which is treatable with a good moisturizer.
Details For a long time, I was embarrased about the increasing amount of dark blotchiness on my face. I finally learned that I have melasma. Fortunately, it is treatable. I went off the pill, became obsessive about sun protection, and then started Tri-Luma. Between all three treatments, my skin has become noticably younger-looking (now I look my age instead of older), smoother, and even-toned. I have gone without Tri-Luma for a week or more between refills on occasion, and my skin quickly worsens. When I restart, my skin returns to "normal", so I know it works. Tri-Luma is like a wonder cream for me, but I have to be vigilent about sun protection so it can work its magic.
I have also had microdermabrasion and micropeels periodically, which (combined with the above treatments) helped smooth and lighten my skin tone.
Conclusions
I highly recommend Tri-Luma (in conjunction w/sun protection).
