I've used prescrition hydroquinone 4% and my face swelled, blistered, and turned ghastly red. I thought this lower percentage 2% hydroquinone maybe more gentle to my skin, but by the second day use, my face was bright red, with heat rash and watery bumps. My eyes were swollen, too. I've heard hydroquinone is effective for many, but in my case, it had terrible effects. I noticed some freckles were lightened after the swelling and color subsided, but the product was not compatible for my skin type.

Conclusions
test product on the underside of your arm first before applying to face
