Eucerin not only moisturizes, but helps heal minor scratches that occurred during the day and it minimizes the occurance of skin outbreaks. Application is clearly visible (due to shininess) so, it's best to apply before bedtime. Eucerine is effective in moisturizing and fascilitating overall skin health. However, the Wal-Mart brand is just as effective. To deal with occassional whiteheads. After exfolization of whitehead, apply a dab of alcohol gel (aka. antibacterial gel), then apply Eucerine. Exfoliation prevents localized inflammation (which may cause a recurrance of the whitehead). Alcohol gel prevents infection of the pore (which also may lead to a recurrance of the whitehead). A thin film of Eucerine replaces the barrier to infection that was broken by exfoliating the whitehead (this limits inflammation, which causes redness). It also moisturizes the surrounding skin to limit hyperpigmentation (which is a common side effect of acne, especially in people with olive complexions).
