Skin Care Review: St Ives Collagen-Elastin Essential Moisturizer
|
by Michelle Gartner, Sheboygan, WI USA
Rating No effect
Benefits
The product moisturizes fairly well.
Drawbacks
It does not reduce fine lines or wrinkles.
Details I am 33 years old and have a few lines cropping on my face that I would like to see less of. I was always told that collagen break down in the skin is what was causing fine lines and wrinkles. I assumed that using St. Ives Collan-Elastin Moisturizer would reduce the appearance of the fine lines. But it did not. The product smelled nice and lubricated my face, making it very soft but there was no reduction in wrinkles. It wasn't until recently I found out that collagen is not asborbed readily in the skin, that I changed my plan of attack on my fine lines. I am not going to use retinols or alpha hydorxy's as I think that these are harsh and break down the skin. I am trying to find out which rejuvanating serum works best for me. So far I have used Olay regenerist with some pretty good results. I am currently trying Denise Austins Green Tea Serum and am not sure if I am having a slight allergic reaction. I would also like to test drive the nutregena product with copper peptides. So here's to still looking.
Conclusions
St. Ives Collagen-Elastin Essential Moisturizer is a satisifactory moisturizer.
