Skin Care Review: AmLactin 12% (by Upsher-Smith)
|
by Louise Morris, Prescott, AZ USA
Rating Excellent
Benefits
Exfoliates and moisturizes skin.
Drawbacks
Use sunscreen when using any alpha-hydroxy acid.
Details A pH balanced alpha-hydroxy acid (lactic acid, a naturally occuring humectant) lotion frequently used for serious medical skin conditions such as psoriasis as it softens and moisturizes rough, dry skin. Lactic acid is less irritating than other alpha-hydroxys (which are usually recommended in a minimum of 8%-10% concentration for exfoliation)and the price is quite reasonable. I follow it with an additional long-lasting moisturizer, currently Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer and both myself and my two friends have had excellent results in our very dry Arizona climate. I also use it on my face and on the backs of my hands mixed with DMAE.
Conclusions
A very economical gentle alpha-hydroxy exfoliating and moisturizing lotion.
Price (paid by reviewer) 14 oz/ $14.95
