Skin Care Review: Skin Biology Emu Oil
|
by Viva Mertlich, Portland, OR United States
Rating Good
Benefits
Moisturizes without causing breakouts or other adverse reactions.
Drawbacks
Oily texture, SPF must be applied additionally.
Details I have fairly oily, acne prone skin and I suffer from hyperpigmentation problems. I have had a difficult time finding a moisturizer that does not cause blackheads and still leaves my skin supple and able to heal.
I have been using the Emu Oil as my main moisturizer for about two months now, with very good results. Although it is an oil, it does not seem to increase the oil production of my skin; rather it seems to help keep my skin more balanced and supple. I find that it helps my skin to heal more rapidly. The information I received from the manufacturer described Emu Oil as being the most similar to the natural oils in human skin; this seems to be an accurate description of how my skin responds to the product. I use AHA peels, and copper peptide products to help my skin tone and texture. Emu oil is excellent as a gentle post peel moisturizer; as well as seems to boost the effectiveness of the copper peptides.
Conclusions
Emu Oil mimics natural skin oils. I have less acne and more supple skin.
