Skin Care Review: Tazorac
|
by Joanne
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
Skin was beginning to lighten and clear up just after 3 short weeks
Drawbacks
Peeling, hyper sensitive to the sun, see review below
Details I have been using tazorac for three weeks and was happy with it as i began noticing my skin (moderate acne and fading of hyperpigmentation) clearing up. I did experience a lot of peeling (but no redness or itching) but was aware that this would occur and just planned to ride it out. I was very happy until I was out in the late afternoon sun for approx 30 min's with 60+sunscreen, wide brimmed hat, sunglasses and my back toward the sun while waiting for friends on the 4th of july. The following day I noticed my cheeks were pink as if i had been burned and the next day was horrified to see darker and more hyperpigmentation where my cheeks were pink the day before. I was/am aware that this product makes one highly sensitive to the sun but a mere 30 min's well covered....?? It happened again a few days later when I took a less than 10 min walk to lunch at work. I should add I'm extremely careful about staying out of the sun however we all have to live a normal life vs. that of cave dweller/vampire. Has anyone experienced this? I'll call my Dr. tomorrow and am thinking will need to go off the product until the fall but am disappointed as I was beginning to see great results in such a short period of time. On top of that there is now additional damage to my face.
Conclusions
Please advise if anyone has had similar issues with added hyperpigmentation?
