Skin Care Review: Photodynamic Therapy
|
by Anonymous
Rating Excellent
Benefits
Shorter amount of time than cream applications.
Drawbacks
Skin looks badly sunburned for up to two weeks.
Details For the treatment of actinic keratosis, I found photodynamic therapy to be much easier and more effective than cream treatments. I was very satisfied with the outcome. The treatment took care of the actinic keratosis with the added benefit of reducing freckles and age spots. What could have taken over three weeks to accomplish using a cream was done with two sessions lasting about 2 hours start to finish. The drawbacks of sun-burned looking skin and staying away from all forms of lights were much less difficult than the same restrictions for three weeks of cream application.
Conclusions
I would definitely recommend this treatment for those with extensive sun damage.
