I've had 30 years with Cystic Acne (mild - moderate but persistent). When I was pregnant my skin flared up badly and I was left with dark scars and generally blotchy face with poor texture. I decided to have a series of Micrdermabrasion sessions which involved use of a "diamond" wand to exfoliate the face followed by a peel (30-50% glycolic). I peeled quite a bit after the treatments and the skin was quite red. But I was very happy with the results and have gone back for the occaisional freshen up session a couple of times since.

Conclusions
Good results with minimal downtime BUT make sure peel is not too strong.
