Skin Care Review: Estee Lauder Idealist
|
by Kate Rosen, los angeles, CA usa
Rating Excellent
Benefits
Smoothes and calms skin with no irritation, leaving it silky and soft.
Drawbacks
Price. It's expensive!
Details It pains me to recommend something so very expensive, but in my experience, Estee Lauder's Idealist is truly the best skin product I've used. It very light, but it smoothes and silkens skin immediately, and the effect lasts hours and hours. Although I've listed it as a "moisturizer" I don't think the main benefit is actually hydration -- it's not a humectant, it doesn't attract moisture (there's no urea, for example) so it doesn't have that slightly sticky effect many good moisturizers have when first applied. I would guess that the silkiness is a due to the dimethicone, which I've noticed is an ingredient in almost every product that makes my skin extra extra smooth.
Conclusions
Expensive, but leaves your skin silky smooth longer than anything I've used.
Price (paid by reviewer) $70 (not cheap!)
