Skin Care Review: Neutrogena Age Shield sunblock spf 30
|
by maryann Puglisi
Rating Adverse Effects
Benefits
"not just sunburn protection - superior anti-aging protection"
Drawbacks
one day of use, my skin aged about 10 years
Details I always used coppertone without any problems. But I read about age shield (I just turned 49 but people always thought I was much younger when they learned my age)and bought it because of it's benefits of sunburn protection and anti-aging protection. By the end of my day in the sun with it, it burned when applied to my face. Then i developed red blotches all over my face and neck, shoulders and upper arms. My skin on my neck and face became very taut and uncomfortably dry and wrinkled, like a raisin. Almost 5 months later, the severe dryness, taut feeling and wrinkling remain. My arms and shoulders, after using a steroid ointment (also used one on my face to clear it up), the tautness and wrinkling and elephant skin-like effect went away. Several dermatologists later I still haven't recovered my pre-neutrogena facial/neck skin.
Conclusions
I have found reviews on-line of adverse effects. Beware of this product.
