I have just tried threading for the first time. It is a method of eyebrow shaping, which utilizes only sewing "thread" (cotton) to remove hairs. Unlike waxing, there is no heat required, and I therefore found it much more suitable for my sensitive skin. Whilst not entirely pain-free, the level of pain is entirely bearable if performed by an expert. Also an expert can undertake the threading very quickly, so what pain there is does not last very long in comparison with using tweezers to pluck each individual hair. Compared with waxing, there is no shiny telltale residue left after threading. It is said that threading lasts for 4-6 week before requiring re-treatment, so in this respect it is very similar to waxing and costs about the same per treatment. Excellent results. Very nicely shaped eyebrows with minimal pain.
