Hair Care Tip: Long hair body and shine
|
submitted by Pamela, Northamptonshire, England
Tip description / details: I am in my forties and have waist-length fair hair. I know people think I should wear it shorter now that I'm older, but the way I see it is as long as it's in great condition and looks good ... why should I? Coming from an Italian family I learned this hair care from a variety of female relatives with long shining tresses. Firstly I gently warm about 250ml of virgin olive oil and work it completely through my hair then wrap my hair up in a warm towel. After 20 minutes I wash my hair with a mild baby shampoo. It takes a while to get rid of the oil! Then I rinse well and make sure the final rinse is cold, and then use a really good quality volumizing conditioner which I leave on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing - again making sure the last rinse is cold. I only do this about once every 3 or 4 weeks, but I end up with the softest, shiniest hair...with body and bounce! Try it and see!
Ingredients: Virgin olive oil; baby shampoo; volumizing conditioner.
How to prepare: Gently warm the oil, warm a bath towel.
How to use: Cover the hair completely from root to tip with the oil.
Results (observed by submitter): Soft, shiny hair with volume and bounce.
Costs involved: low
