I have an acne-prone skin, Here's a simple routine that helps me keep my skin clear and even toned. Give it a try. Use a gentle cleanser like Spectrojel. Never wash your face with hot water only use lukewarm water. The second step is toning. Toners prep your skin and help the creams you use to be more effectively absorbed. Always use an alcohol free toner (I use the Biotherm Biosource Softening Lotion for Dry Skin). The third step is applying a 2.5% or 5% BP (benzoyl peroxide) product on your troubled spots followed by a light oil free moisturizer. Optionally, at night you could also use a glycolic cream to exfoliate your skin. Start at a low percentage to build up skin tolerance. If you have dark pigment spots either caused by sun damage or acne scars try using a hydroquinone-based product. Only place this product on discolored spots. Apply hydroquinone at night after the glycolic treatment.
