I have come to believe firmly that skin health and care starts from the inside out. I have always cleaned, moisturized, and protected my skin from the sun. I have also maintained a healthy diet, and I exercise regularly. But I have not seen my skin benefit as much from anything else as when I started to take flax seed oil daily. Three years ago, I started to take a tablespoon of organic flax seed oil almost daily. Interestingly, I started to do this to help with what I noticed then to be a gradual thinning of my hair. The doctor who recommended flax seed oil for my thinning hair also said that it would help soften my skin. I noticed within just a month the improvement not only in the condition of my hair, but also of my skin. My skin was dramatically softer, and I also noticed a marked improvement in the clarity of my skin, as well as an increased "brightness" that I never had before. I also noticed that the lines on my face looked less pronounced. Everyone started to comment about how great my skin looked. And ever since, flax seed oil has become an essential part of my healthy skin regimen. Of course, I would always recommend consulting your doctor about starting anything new. But this is something that has worked beautifully for me.
