Skin Care Tip: Salt scrub shaving
|
submitted by Kiara Buchanan, Saint Paul, MN USA
Tip description / details: I read about the benefits of men using an exfoliating scrub before shaving to prevent ingrown hairs and to slough off dead skin cells to allow for a closer shave.
I thought if it worked for shaving faces, it may be worth a shot on legs as well.
Prior to shaving your legs, exfoliate using a moisturizing salt or sugar scrub. The scrub helps lift the hair, and gets rid of dead skin cells. The emollient serves as a lubricant for shaving.
It helps eliminate ingrown hairs and allows for a closer shave without nicks.
Ingredients: Typically sugar or salt, essential oils, glycerin...
How to prepare: Make sure to stir the product thoroughly prior to use.
How to use: Massage scrub thoroughly into skin. Shave. Rinse. Pat dry. The scrub serves as shave gel and moisturizer in one.
Results (observed by submitter): My skin was smooth for several days longer than typical and I didn't have any irritated patches of reddened skin or ingrown hairs.
Costs involved: Low
