Skin Care Tip: Microdermabrasion at home
|
submitted by Ann, Austin, TX USA
Tip description / details: You must get the dead cells off of the skin for any of the products that you use to work!!! At home microdermabrasion is a shock to the skin at first but if done correctly (with the finger tips) it can be your best weapon in the fight against aging skin. You can make your own from baking soda and honey, very fine sugar granules (put regular sugar in the blender on high for about 30 seconds) lemon and honey or you can buy aluminum oxide cream. I like Neutrogena but its about $16.00 a jar and should last no longer than a month. Do not use "tools" such as the ones that they sell in stores. They do not apply the pressure needed to achieve good results and they don't get in to the nooks and crannies. Follow with a good peptide cream to seal the skin.
Ingredients: finely milled sugar, honey and lemon to make a very thick "cream" (mostly sugar)
baking soda and honey to make very thick cream (more baking soda)
How to prepare: mix and test according to what works for you.
How to use: wash face thoroughly and pat dry. Apply the cream and start on the fortehead. rub with finger tips gently but firmly in a circular motion. continue all over the face.
Results (observed by submitter): Your face should feel a little irritated afterward. If not, you are not getting the dead skin off. Face my be red and you may even break out the first few times that you do this but just continue to work at it and use a good peptide cream afterwards and your new skin will start to show through. It will literally glow!!
Costs involved: 0-$16.00 monthly
