Skin Care Tip: Skin-friendly bathing

submitted by laurie

Tip description / details:
I use this for situations where I have been very dirty and sweaty for several hours, like working tearing up sod in my yard and other heavy forms of gardening. Before I get into the shower, I mortar up a few vitamin C's into a paste, and mix it and a few vitamin E's that I release from their capsules, with whatever cheap clay mask I can find at the drug store. After rinsing off in the shower and shampooing, I put on my hair conditioner, tie it up in a plastic bag and put a towel over the bag, so it doesn't drip onto my body and the heat is retained by the towel for extra conditioning. I use the clay/vitamin C and E mask all over my body, let it dry, go back into the shower and rinse. When I emerge from the shower, I pat dry and apply lotion or oil to my damp skin. It's very refreshing and cleansing when you are filthy from the garden, but I would caution overusing it.

Ingredients:
Whatever cheap basic clay mask you can find that is nondrying (i.e. doesn't have alpha hydroxy acids in it, or perfumes, several vitamin C's and E's, your favorite body lotion (I usually add a few beta carotene's and E's to mine, plus some Bulgar Rose oil)

How to prepare:
as explained, mortar your C up until fine, mix all ingredients in a small bowl. You may have to add a bit of water to get the proper consistancy

How to use:
With your hands. LOL. Unless you have a willing man-slave available. :)

Results (observed by submitter):
Nice clean fresh smelling skin and a rosy glow.

Costs involved:
minimal
