Homemade Skin Care Recipe: Olive oil for cleansing and moisturizing
|
submitted by Emma Fovargue, Wakefield, England
Tip description / details: You can use olive oil in a variety of ways. Use it as a gentle, anti-oxidant packed cleanser by massaging it over the face and the wiping off with cotton wool pads soaked in water. The most effective way to do this is to push the pads onto your skin and then pull off. The water pulls the oil off, removing impurities, and even makeup.
You can also use it as a moisturizer. Rub all over your skin before getting into the bath, and then sponge off with a gentle cleansing gel for super soft skin. Or you can mix it into your usual face and body skin creams. I put it straight onto my skin neat over my usual face cream - this adds antioxidants and increases the benefit of your usual moisturizer - you might find this a bit sticky, though!
