Homemade Skin Care Recipe: Homemade toner
|
submitted by Oksana Mulyk-Lutzyk, Winnipeg, Canada
Tip description / details: It is easy to make your own toner that will give you glowing skin.
Ingredients: Green tea, white tea, apple cider vinegar, rose water, ascorbic acid crystals.
How to prepare: I use rose water that you can buy in the exotic foods at the supermarket, or at health food stores. Add about half a teaspoon of Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) crystals, available at the Pharmacy or health food store, and shake it well. In place of the rose water, you can also use a strong brew of green tea, either by itself or blended with white tea (these are antioxidants). If your skin tingles or burns, you can reduce the amount of ascorbic acid.
How to use: Keep this mixture in the fridge and after cleansing your skin, pat it on with a cotton ball. You can also use it as a cleanser/freshener in the morning. I have also used apple cider vinegar instead of the rose water or green tea.
Results (observed by submitter): It gives my skin a nice glow and it feels really soft. The apple cider vinegar smells bad but the scent doesn't linger.
Costs involved: Minimal
